The company announced on Monday, June 27, that it will be at the upcoming video game event in Cologne from August 24 to 28. The Assassin’s Creed studio did not reveal what it will announce at the said showcase, but we do have some inkling on what it might be. Lest we forget, we reported on a potential big Ubisoft showcase that was originally planned before June. With Ubisoft confirming its non-presence at this year’s non-E3 festivities, we can only assume that things haven’t changed at all. If anything, we have a few things that we can add to the list of potential reveals in August, as well as what will not be there. For one, don’t expect to see the next Assassin’s Creed game. Ubisoft has already confirmed that it will reveal “the future” of the stealth-action franchise in September. But, Eivor could still sneak his way to Cologne with new Valhalla content, including what the company refers to as “the last episode of Eivor’s story.” It’s worth remembering that Valhalla got another significant piece of content earlier this year with Dawn of Ragnarok. What will probably make an appearance is Skull and Bones, which is rumored to get a re-reveal in July. Other games that Ubisoft could reveal at Gamescom 2022 include:
XDefiant The Division: Heartland Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope Prince of Persia remake A new Ghost Recon game A new Might & Magic game
As for Gamescom 2022, it will serve as the organization’s first in-person event following the COVID-19 pandemic. However, you won’t need to worry too much if you can’t attend. There will be some online content for those who cannot physically go there. In addition to Ubisoft, Gamescom 2022’s lineup will also include Bandai Namco and Embracer Group. Meanwhile, Sony, Take-Two Interactive, Nintendo, and Activision Blizzard have all declined to take part in the event.
