The Nioh and Ninja Gaiden series developer revealed its latest project, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, at the recently concluded Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase. Unfortunately, we have zero other info about Wo Long outside of the fact that it sports the developer’s usual style and aesthetics. However, unlike Ninja Gaiden and Nioh, it appears that Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will take inspiration from Chinese history and mythology. The game’s official description reads: Of course, we know that all sorts of nasty creatures probably never really existed in China nor everywhere else for that matter. But, this hasn’t stopped Team Ninja from letting their imaginations run wild before, so why should they do that now? The good news here is that, unlike the Nioh series, Team Ninja’s Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is headed to multiple platforms. Combined all together, the Nioh games have sold around 2.5 million units on the PS4. If Team Ninja can apply the same successful gameplay formula to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, the upcoming presumed Souls-like title could sell far better. We’re not saying that Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty could approach Elden Ring numbers, but who knows? In the meantime, you can keep yourself busy with Team Ninja’s other more recent outings such as the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection and Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.
