Twitter user AccountNGT claims that Supermassive will bring back Until Dawn for “current-gen consoles.” The user adds that they’ll “try to find out more about this potential project.” Interestingly enough, the way that AccountNGT said things is that Until Dawn will be released for other consoles outside of the PlayStation 5. Although this is unlikely as Sony still owns the IP, stranger things have happened lately. For example, Until Dawn might not necessarily make its way to Xbox consoles but instead the PC.
— AccountNGT (@accngt) February 13, 2022 Sony’s Jim Ryan explained last year that the console manufacturer wants to start releasing more of its IPs on other platforms soon. Since then, former PS-exclusives like Days Gone, Death Stranding, Final Fantasy VII Remake, God of War, as well as Uncharted: The Legacy of Thieves Collection have all been confirmed for a PC release at some point. It wouldn’t be far-fetched to think that Sony has a PC port and a PS5 remaster lined up. Of course, this is all speculation. Not to mention, AccountNGT specifically says that Supermassive is working on a remake, not a remaster. Having said that, Until Dawn is a good pick for a multi-platform re-release for next-gen platforms. We included the game in our list of the best horror games last year and continue to stand by it. In addition to the game’s ensemble cast, Supermassive did a great job of creating an interactive story that will have you replaying the game with your friends or on your own over and over again, provided that you don’t mind having nightmares for a couple of weeks later. In other news, Resident Evil fans might want to keep a close eye on Capcom’s announcements soon. A recent leak suggests that a Resident Evil 4 Remake might be announced this year. Meanwhile, Shinji Mikami’s next game, Ghostwire: Tokyo, finally got a release date.
