Even the upcoming open-world Harry Potter RPG title, Hogwarts Legacy, wanted no part of the internet’s beef with J.K. Rowling, albeit it couldn’t avoid it since 57-year-old author created the source material. Now, Sebastian Croft is casting a protective charm over himself and is all but wishing he had a Time-Turner with him. The Heartstoppers actor recently came under fire after it was revealed that Croft had lent his voice for the protagonist of Hogwarts Legacy. A few days later, the 21-year-old actor came out with a statement voicing his disapproval with the views of J.K. Rowling, saying: Despite winning the “Most Anticipated Game” award at last year’s The Game Awards, Hogwarts Legacy’s road to being sold on Diagon Alley has been as perilous and controversial as Gilderoy Lockhart’s supposedly heroic career. But, despite the clashing opinions the internet may have for the upcoming open-world RPG, Hogwarts Legacy continues to sell in droves. The game is currently one of the best-selling games on the popular digital games distribution platform, Steam, ahead of its February 10 release on the PC even though you’ll need the Nimbus 2000 equivalent of gaming setups to run it well. It will be interesting to see if the controversies will continue to follow Hogwarts Legacy well into its various stages of release. Speaking of Harry Potter, Warner Bros. Discovery is reportedly looking for ways to expand the Wizarding World franchise and revisit the idea of making more movies. Some reports suggest that the possibility of rebooting the entire movie series is high under new management.
