But, while Cena has always maintained a squeaky-clean reputation, he’s had his fair share of issues with other talents. Most recently, R-Truth shed some light on the alleged issue he and Cena had in the early 2000s. At the time, R-Truth had signed with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling after working for the WWF as K-Kwik from 1998 to 2002. Decades later, R-Truth revealed the truth behind the supposed beef on the Nothing Beats Experience show, saying: R-Truth would later act heel towards John Cena from 2011 to 2012 as he formed the tag team duo known as “Awesome Truth” with The Miz. The storyline culminated in the two of them losing to The Rock and Cena at Survivor Series in November. The team dissolved as Miz turned on R-Truth soon after and R-Truth turned “face” once again. When I got to the locker room, all of the boys were sitting down just watching. Cena was in the bathroom. So, when I came in I didn’t notice. They’re all sitting there waiting. When he came in, he looked, he said, ‘We not gonna have any problems, are we?’ I said, ‘Man, hell no. I’m on your ship." R-Truth most recently won the WWE 24/7 Championship. He currently holds the record for the most reigns as the WWE 24/7 Champion at 53. As for Cena, the 16-time World Champion is busy juggling time between the WWE and his budding Hollywood career. Cena recently debuted in the DC Extended Universe debut as the Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad last year. He later reprised his role in the titular HBO Max show, which received rave reviews. Peacemaker has since been renewed for a second season and paved the way for multiple spin-offs based on relatively obscure DCEU characters.
