In late August, there was plenty of speculation suggesting that Sony would delay the highly anticipated Venom sequel for the ’nth time. One report, in particular, claimed that several insiders came across information confirming that Sony has decided to delay Venom 2 and that an official announcement was coming after CinemaCon 2021. It’s been a few days since CinemaCon 2021 has ended and all we’ve gotten is good news about the Venom sequel.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage is all set for October 15
Because of the ongoing virus surge resulting from the Delta variant of COVID-19, plenty of theaters all across the globe, including the United States, are closing down again. Even in areas where theaters remained open, the finances just didn’t make sense. Movies like James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad performed poorly at the box office despite positive critic and audience reviews. This would explain why Sony has already elected to delay Venom 2 three times. A fourth delay would’ve been disappointing, but not entirely surprising. However, judging by the new poster released for Let There Be Carnage, we don’t think that Sony is going to postpone the movie’s premiere again.
— #Venom: Let There Be Carnage (@VenomMovie) August 31, 2021 The hype for Venom 2 is currently at an all-time high following the release of its latest trailer in August. Tom Hardy is set to reprise his role as Eddie Brock in Venom 2. Meanwhile, as teased in the post-credits scene in the first movie, Woody Harrelson will star against him as he takes on the role of the crazed serial killer, Cletus Kasady. True to the character’s comic book origins, Kasady bonds with a symbiote to create Carnage. It’s safe to say that fans definitely have a lot to look forward to in Let There Be Carnage. It also doesn’t hurt that Hardy confirmed that the fate of future Venom movies lies in the success of the sequel. In the meantime, you can feast your eyes on the first-ever trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Venom may or may not make an appearance.
