John Cena and Jason Momoa are reportedly co-starring in the upcoming comedy film titled “Killer Vacation.” The two are best known for their roles as Christopher Smith / Peacemaker and Arthur Curry / Aquaman, respectively. The duo met on the set of the upcoming Fast X movie which is part of the “Fast and the Furious” franchise. The pair had natural chemistry on set and were looking to take the partnership to another project. The plot for “Killer Vacation” has been kept under wraps over at Warner Bros. From the title, we assume the plot will involve a holiday trip gone wrong. Sources familiar with the film describe the movie as a fun and splashy adventure similar to “True Lies.” The script will be written by Mark and Brian Gunn. The writers are related to director James Gunn who is co-CEO of DC Studios, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery. Brian is James’ brother while Mark is his cousin. The project will be produced by John Rickard and Peter Safran. The movie’s package existed before Gunn and Safran were hired as co-CEOs of DC Studios. The director of the movie as well as its release window hasn’t been revealed.
Momoa and Cena’s other projects
Momoa will reprise his role as Aquaman in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The upcoming superhero movie will be the last film before the “next slate” of films under the supervision of Gunn and Safran at DC Studios. It is reportedly Momoa’s final solo outing as Aquaman as DC Studios looks to sunset Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Nonetheless, Momoa will reportedly take on the role of Lobo in the new DC Universe. John Cena is currently working on the HBO Max series Peacemaker. The series was created after his initial DC appearance in The Suicide Squad. Peacemaker and The Suicide Squad were both directed by James Gunn. Both Cena and Momoa are part of the final two Fast and the Furious movies. Fast X and Fast 11 will conclude the long-running action-adventure series centered around cars and the racing culture. Cena will be playing Jakob Toretto, a sibling of the series mainstays Dom and Mia Toretto played by Vin Diesel and Jordana Brewster respectively. Cena’s character was introduced in F9. Momoa will have his Fast and the Furious debut in Fast X. The actor will be playing Dante, a villain working with Cipher that Momoa describes as “very sadistic and androgynous and he’s a bit of a peacock. He’s got a lot of issues, this guy. He’s definitely got some daddy issues”
