Disney is hyping Book of Boba Fett ahead of launch
After Boba Fett’s formal return in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, audiences have wondered how the famous bounty hunter is still alive. The events of Return of the Jedi suggested that his encounter with the Sarlacc meant certain death for Boba Fett. However, since the Book of Boba Fett (and by extension, The Mandalorian and other spin-offs) is set in the years following the original trilogy, longtime fans are curious to find out exactly why Boba Fett is still alive and how he survived the encounter. Unfortunately, the latest Book of Boba Fett trailer didn’t exactly reveal how he healed, it does offer a glimpse of how he survived. In the video, we can see the Tusken Raiders of Tatooine’s desert planet with Fett narrating that he’d been left for dead in the area. Of course, we know that Boba Fett is all alive and well, so it’s either he survived through sheer will and determination (unlikely) or the planet’s natives nursed him back to health after escaping the Sarlacc (more likely). Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, the same duo behind The Mandalorian, worked together to develop The Book of Boba Fett alongside the series’ director, Robert Rodriguez. The events of the spin-off will happen concurrently with Ahsoka and will revolve around Boba Fett’s attempt to try and fill the power vacuum left by the death of Jabba the Hutt with the help of Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand. Since confirming the show’s premiere a few months back, Disney has done a great job hyping The Book of Boba Fett. In an earlier trailer, we found out that The Book of Boba Fett will take place in Tatooine. Meanwhile, another teaser refers to Boba Fett as a “legend”. With that said, audiences are curious to find out more about The Book of Boba Fett. In addition to wanting to know how the titular bounty hunter’s still alive, fans are looking forward to seeing more of his relationship with the Tusken Raiders. Thankfully, the wait isn’t for too long. The Book of Boba Fett is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on December 29 this year.
