Bethesda’s official Latin American Instagram account replied to a user’s comment on a Starfield photo asking for the release date of the game. Bethesda said that it will be announcing the release date “very soon” at a “special game event. " While it doesn’t answer the question of when Starfield is coming out, at least it gives players a reason to expect a release date to come soon. Unfortunately, we don’t know when this “special game event” is going to be. The special event may be referring to the stand-alone showcase for Starfield. According to Microsoft, Bethesda will hold a separate event for Starfield to have adequate time to answer questions from fans and do a deep dive into the game. Microsoft has an upcoming Developer_Direct showcase livestream which will feature Redfall, Forza Motorsport, Elder Scrolls Online, and Minecraft Legends. The showcase event is scheduled for January 25th. The Starfield special event will happen sometime after the Developer_Direct showcase. The upcoming standalone deep dive will be a very good venue for the announce the release date for Starfield. The game showcase will also be giving players an idea of what to expect from the upcoming game. Playtesters for Bethesda describe the game as the biggest IP from the studio. Starfield is Bethesda’s first new IP in around 25 years. The studio has been focusing on the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series for the longest time. Hopefully, the game will only be delayed by a few months. The rumor suggests that Starfield may be delayed by just one or two months from its original release window. Bethesda announced last year that the game would be coming in the first half of 2023. Players will have to wait for Bethesda and Microsoft to announce a date for the special game event. The deep dive should answer all questions for the upcoming title. It should be interesting to see how the game stacks up against other space exploration games currently available on the market. Starfield is coming exclusively to the PC and Xbox Series X/S sometime this year.
